Journaling Reads: This story might be too long to tell but I think it’s an important one. When I was little, I felt that my father favored my cousins as opposed to me. He seemed to spend more time with them and did things for them more than me. I had always wanted a tree house growing up and my dad would always dismiss it and say that we never lived anywhere long enough to build one for me. When we were finally at a house that we seemed to want to stay in for a while, Mom mentioned that since we had built this piece of scenery for a play I was in, that it would make a good treehouse. What does Dad do, but give it to my cousins?!?! I was destroyed over it but never told my dad how I felt. Years later when Richard and I see this Omish Castle, I latched onto the idea as if I were a little kid again. I wanted this for my kids soo bad. I explained my past with the treehouse to Richard and he PROMISED me that he would not let me down. He and Dad worked so hard on this castle and it is a show stopper. All our neighbors’ want to play on it and it is truly a source of pride for me, too..mainly because it stands for a promise kept between me and your Dad!!
