Journaling reads: When you first started potty training, it was a challenge to just get you to sit still for a second to let anything happen. Diapers were definitely an inconvenience for you but so was taking time to sit on a toilet. So, I started letting you look at my magazines. Of course, they were very appropriate for your age group. Most of them were US Weekly’s. There were a few scrapbook magazines but mostly just the SMUT. We would laugh at you looking at them as if you were actually reading. You looked at the pictures and I would try to tell you what was happening, although trying to explain the Britney Spears trainwreck was difficult. One of your favorite magazines was one that had a cartoon on the back with people eating McDonald’s hamburgers on it. You would say over and over, “Dinner at the table!” So cute, you were. We are still trying to teach you to go potty and you are doing great…when you want to. I know it won’t be long before you get the hang of it…hopefully, before you start REALLY reading this stuff.”
I was going to DECLARE Emma potty trained yesterday. She was on a roll. But, I am learning that this is more of a fluid process. 🙂
